Summary: Working in Algosystems as a network engineer at start and as technical manager the last years, had the change to develop not only technical but also management and administration skills.
Under my administration, the technical department was re-organised and new areas were developed. From a System Integrator with emphasis at the network area, Algosystems technical department is now covering network, voice and systems services.
For that reasons the following functions were organized:
Support Functions
o Three different On-call engineers are available in order to support the three different areas Algosystems is implementing (Network, Voice, Systems) in rotating shifts
o Remote access to the customers, via secure IPSec Vpn connections or dialup access
o Network Monitor Systems are implemented on all major customers with the ability to understand services errors
o Documentation on every single installation with most common troubleshooting guides
o Proactive assessments
Presales Functions
o Meetings with the customer in order to clarify its needs
o Participation on the preparation of the proposal, by designing the final solution and describing how the system will work
Project Management Functions
o Pre implementation tasks, including kick off meetings, order management etc.
o Implementation tasks, including planning work, coordination with all departments (logistic, sales, technical), partner management etc.
o Post implementation task, including acceptance tests, customer satisfactory measurements etc.
Contract Management
o Back to back contracts with various partners
On Going Training
o Sort and Long term Training
o Cisco and Microsoft Specializations (Must mention that I personally trained and prepared for the lab two CCIEs and I am preparing two more)
My main role in Algosystems consists of assuring that all the previous functions are followed and if a need appears a new function will be designed and implemented.
